How I came up with the idea of becoming a Wedding Planner / Designer
The idea of joining the wedding world came to me during my own wedding. I had rented quite a few decor items from Big Day Bazaar and when I stepped into their premises, I was amazed by this Ali Baba’s cave. I told myself, 'Wow, I want to do that when I grow up.' Then Covid happened, which brought a major period of reflection, as it did for many people. I wanted to find meaning in what I was doing. Thanks to my background as a Quality Manager, I had skills in project management, client satisfaction and risk control. I wanted to work on something more fun than ISO 9001 standards and audits.
My background before getting started
I have more than twelve years of experience as a Quality Manager in different sectors. At the end of 2020, I completed both the Wedding Planner and Wedding Designer programs, which I passed in early 2021. I then waited two years before creating my own business, mainly for personal reasons.
It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

My biggest challenge
I think the biggest challenge is impostor syndrome, not feeling legitimate. But every day I repeat to myself that it is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
My agency
I offer services as a wedding planner, such as full planning, partial planning and day-of coordination. As a wedding designer, I also offer bespoke decoration services. More broadly, I create services to celebrate moments that bring people together: weddings, civil unions, proposals and more.
What I love about my job
These are deeply emotional and very intense moments. Of course there is stress, but it is good stress. I really enjoy project management, the organizational side, creativity, and the search for vendors and venues.
What IWI brought me
A solid foundation, a lot of knowledge and many tools. It was a very rich program, both inspired and inspiring. I recommend it one thousand percent.
