Clara Creates "Always and Forever Agency"

From teaching to wedding planning, Clara followed a long-held intuition and built a project aligned with her values.

Organizing a friend's wedding: the turning point

I had always enjoyed organizing trips and events for my loved ones. It was while helping a friend organize her wedding that the idea came to me. Several people around me told me that this profession would suit me well.

I thought about it for a long time because it was not my field at all to begin with. Little by little, my project started to take shape. I could already picture the atmosphere of my company, the values I wanted it to express, and the type of events I could organize.

So I looked for a training program and took the leap.

From teaching to wedding planning

Before the IWI program, I studied foreign languages, English and Italian. After earning my degree, I completed a master’s in education and became a school teacher.

I taught for five years, including during my training. At the same time, I organized birthdays and other celebrations for my loved ones.

How I overcame the obstacles

The first difficulty I faced was the fear of changing careers. I was leaving a stable job to move into self-employment. I weighed the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that, for my personal well-being, I needed to take that risk. So I worked on leaving my job while training for the profession I cared about.

The second difficulty was following the program while still working. Teaching requires a huge amount of personal work, and with the program I had even more to do. By adapting my schedule and accepting that taking time for myself would not hold back my progress, I was able to move forward at my own pace.

The final difficulty was self-confidence. Because of my previous professional path, I felt that I lacked many of the skills required for the wedding planner profession. I was afraid of failing and afraid that I was not made for it.

It was when I found the IWI program that I started to put things into perspective and tell myself that, with training, I could absolutely do this profession.

My agency

My agency offers services in wedding planning as well as other private and professional events. Its purpose is to ease the organizational burden for my clients.

I want them to feel calm about delegating an important event to me and to be able to fully enjoy time with their loved ones or colleagues.

What WedSKILLS brought me

The IWI program brought me many skills, especially on the commercial and management side. It also allowed me to meet other future wedding planners.

Above all, it taught me that you have to overcome your fear in order to get what you want, and that taking risks is worth it.
