Anaïs's Success Story, Founder of Wed'Love and Wedding Planner Since 2018

A Belgian planner who built a high-end destination wedding agency in Provence.

How I came up with the idea of becoming a Wedding Planner

At 28, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a wedding planner in the south of France. I am Belgian, and since my teenage years I had been immersed in the world of event planning thanks to my mother, who already had her own company.

When I created my agency, I chose the south of France for its charm, sunny weather and romantic atmosphere, all ideal for memorable weddings. My early experience allowed me to gain the skills needed to organize exceptional events.

As a wedding planner, I strive to personalize every wedding by understanding each couple's unique wishes. My goal is to create magical moments through carefully considered details. Working in the south of France allows me to combine my passion for events with the natural beauty of the region, creating extraordinary weddings in the heart of Provence.

My background before getting started

I originally trained as a real estate agent in Belgium, and my background is quite unusual. I had several professional experiences, each of which allowed me to gain additional skills. I was a G.O. at Club Med after my studies, and when I arrived in the south of France in 2015, I worked in B2C sales in the renewable energy sector, which gave me extensive field sales experience.

The difficulties I faced before getting started

A lot of agencies closed their doors to me when I wanted to do internships and learn in the field. Legal and financial support was also complicated when I launched my business. So I trained myself and kept going.

My agency

At the beginning, when I created Wed'Love, I offered several services including wedding planning and private event planning. As time went on, I decided, after Covid, to refocus on a single service: full planning for foreign clients. As of today, for 2024 and 2025, I offer a bespoke full wedding planning service for clients from Northern Europe or the United States getting married in Provence.

The goal is to provide them with unfailing support, advice and practical help in the field thanks to my experience and expertise, especially because of the language barrier my clients may face when coming to get married in Provence.

Today, Wed'Love is an agency that works as a team on wedding days and offers a high-end service for an international clientele.

What I love about my job

As a wedding planner specializing in destination weddings in Provence, I love my job for its unique blend of creativity and organization. Every event is a blank canvas where I can bring my clients' dreams to life by combining the natural beauty of Provence with their wishes.

The diversity of my international clientele brings real cultural richness, making every project unique and stimulating. Coordinating weddings in such an idyllic setting is not just a job, but a passion that allows me to create unforgettable moments. The magic happens when Provence becomes the privileged witness of a love story celebrated in an exceptional way.

My biggest day-to-day challenge

Running the business can be heavy at times and does not always allow me to fully focus on my work as a planner. I decided to close my SASU and continue my activity as a sole trader.

From my first year in business to today

My business has kept growing since the end of Covid. The beginning was slow. 2020 was supposed to be my first real season, but Covid decided otherwise. My first real season was in 2021 with 8 weddings, then around 10 in 2022, and 17 in 2023, which was too many for my taste.

My greatest pride

Having taken part in the MasterClass Référence this year alongside Christophe SERANO and Stéphanie Fayolle.

My best memories

1) Meeting Greg Finck at a wedding where I was working under a white-label agreement.

2) Supporting a couple at the last minute, two months before the wedding day, for a three-day wedding at Capelongue in the Luberon with 130 guests, and having to produce the entire wedding day.

3) Master Class Référence in April 2023 — such a source of pride.

What IWI brought me

A framework, structural skills, a network, and legal knowledge.
